This is a guide to the use of the Matlab software package that allows users to calculate and plot the Plankton Index and related indicators. It refers mainly to the contents of the zipped file PI2021HK, which includes the main program PI2CHK and some example data files for phytoplankton from Hong Kong waters.
The guide also provides a short introduction to the theory of the Plankton Index and Euclidian Distance, and some discussions of Life- forms.
