This talk explores ways of composing music that sidestep conventional methods like using melody and harmony in favour of finding form and process in non musical sources.
Neil Davidson will discuss the ways he has composed music in the past and unpack the process of making music from geology maps, which have been used to create a new piece that will be performed at the museum on Saturday 14th March from 7.30pm.
The talk will be suitable for non musicians as no understanding of music notation will be required.
