Research expertise

My interest in improvement science has been influenced by my diverse background in nursing and healthcare. Specifically, I am interested in improving outcomes and experiences of people engaging in health services. My PhD was examining the patient experience of hospital quality of care, which resulted in the development of the Care Experience Feedback Improvement Tool (CEFIT).  My current interests include what works, where, when and for whom -  which examines the important role of context for effective interventions.  As a nurse lecturer I am also interetsed in the most effective way of teaching nurses how to do quality improvement, designing curriculum and sharing and developing our pedogogical understanding.

I have expertise and experience in conducting systematic reviews, and qualitative and quantitative research methods.
