Résumé
Ragnars saga Loðbrókar (The Saga of Ragnar Lothbrok) and Ragnarssona þáttr (The Tale of Ragnar’s Sons) provide the main primary saga source material for the History Channel’s Vikings series. This paper will explore these and other sources, and evaluate the similarities and reflect on the differences found in the narrative strand, the visual appearance, and the underlying philosophy of the program itself.
