Résumé
In an article in the Festschrift to Margaret Clunies Ross (Brink 2007a), I
made an attempt to enhance our knowledge and understanding of the Old
Norse pagan religion by presenting a number of maps in which I had plotted
the distribution of those theophoric place names in Scandinavia that I was
aware of for a number of gods (Freyr, Óðinn, Þórr and Ullr/ Ullinn). The idea
was that this toponymic material would point to places where cult activities
involving the various gods and goddesses had taken place, thereby bringing
geography into the debate
