This project investigates lanthanum- and cerium-functionalised biochars produced from waste conifer brash for phosphorus and arsenic removal from contaminated water. Building on previous research demonstrating substantially enhanced adsorption performance, the study evaluates the materials in continuous-flow systems using real environmental waters. It examines adsorption mechanisms, regeneration, stability and metal leaching, supporting the development of sustainable waste-derived materials for advanced water treatment.
