Research Interests

Liam is a PhD student in partnership with Tobar an Dualchais and funded through a collaborative doctoral award by SGSAH. Focussing on the Tobar an Dualchais recordings from Berneray, Harris, and Eriskay, he is investigating how Gaelic folklore was created and transmitted diachronically within distinct social groups, from the mid-nineteenth century to present day. His research applies novel methodologies from computational folkloristics, in tandem with more traditional approaches, to explore the collections on a macroscopic, or systemic, scale.
