    Description of project aims

    This project was a pilot project in the final, and third year, of the Artworks Scotland initiative. This initiative was one of five in the Paul Hamlyn Foundation initiative: ArtWorks: developing practice in participatory settings special initiative.

    The funding supported development and delivery of two 20 credit modules in the field of art and social practice, one undergraduate and one postgraduate, Masters level. It tested the feasibility of delivering this subject using virtual tools and launched the Virtual Symposium for socially engaged art, an event which has run annually. The first keynote speaker in March 2014 was Pablo Helguera. Professor Loraine Leeson and Imi Mauf were guest artists.
