Research Expertise
I am a research associate in environmental science and One Health, with significant experience in stakeholder engagement, project management, funding acquisition, and quantitative environmental research. My research interests include: emerging contaminants, pharmaceutical pollution, sustainable healthcare, wastewater treatment, instrumental analysis. I also coordinate the One Health Breakthrough Partnership to deliver activity investigating pharmaceutical pollution and sustainable healthcare practices with stakeholders across the healthcare, water and environment sectors in Scotland (Scottish Government funded). I have a keen interest in cross-sector knowledge exchange and stakeholder engagement to develop innovative solutions addressing current environmental issues. I have 10+ yrs experience in analytical chemistry (specialism liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry). My PhD (2016-2020) investigated pharmaceutical introduction and fate in rural wastewaters and surface waters.
