PhD Project
My PhD investigates intergenerational transmission of Scottish Gaelic in the Isle of Skye, focusing specifically on famillies where parents were educated through Gaelic-medium education (GME) and have chosen GME for their own children. The study examines how educational experiences, community networks and home practices shape language choices and everyday Gaelic use. The project aims to deepen understanding of the opportunities and barriers of Gaelic intergenerational transmission.
