Paper presentation at 17th Viking Congress: "Skoit du oot by, Magnie. Mutual support between Norn and Scots." This paper explores grammatical phenomena in Orkney and Shetland dialect and raises the question of whether Norn and Scots grammar could have supported one another in the survival of grammatical relicts in the dialects.
