Abstract
This paper summarises the most recently published data from the International
Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES) on the state of commercially
important fish stocks in the waters around Scotland. These data reveal trends in
the sizes of these fish stocks and in the levels of exploitation. This information
informs the scientific advice that ICES provides on the future management of
these fish stocks.
The general overall picture continues to be one of relatively high abundance,
following increases over the last two decades, and of relatively low levels of
exploitation following decreases over the same time period.
