Abstract

The present statistical compendium is primarily based on Welsh Census 2021 data but also draws on census data from 2001 and 2011 for the purpose of indicating historical trends. The data is presented at local authority and LSOA level, according to the geography of Census 2021. Changes were made to some LSOAs between 2001 and 2021 as a result of changes in population and household numbers, and, where this is the case, ONS best-fit tables have been used to combine or split LSOAs to match the geography of Census 2021. For convenience, names are provided, along with numbers, for the LSOAs but it should be noted that LSOAs do not always correspond to electoral wards and the official list of names of LSOAs is in the process of being updated. Note also that the statistical disclosure control methods used by the Office for National Statistics to protect the confidentiality of individuals may give rise to minor discrepancies in data totals from table to table.
