Abstract
The Orkney Energy Heritage Strategy has worked with island communities and key organisations to bring Orkney's energy story together with a joined-up collaborative approach; to understand where important energy sites and objects are located and explore the challenges and priorities for recording, curating and protecting them. It recognises the importance of talking a holistic overview and considering tangible and intangible energy heritage (e.g. the importance of collecting oral histories and living history). This current state-of-play has undertaken an audit (Phase 1), run workshops and events, and worked with key stakeholders, underpinning this co-produced strategy. Guidance on how we move forward is provided in the Action Plan.
