Abstract

A collection of 25 C-type photographs and 25 postcards which was produced for the exhibitions Hidden Flowers Bloom Most Beautifully. They were selected from an on-going series of digital images and films made in response to the construction of the Viking Energy Wind Farm on Shetland’s north central mainland which began in September 2020 after many years of public debate and local dissent. The photographs were exhibited simultaneously in the exhibition Hidden Flowers Bloom Beautifully in Appenzell Ausserrhoden, Switzerland and Lerwick, Shetland. The postcards were given to visitors at each exhibition as a memento. The web site Landscape in Pain was created during the preparation of material for the exhibition and a QR code linked to the web site was printed on each postcard.
