Abstract

St Magnus Cathedral in Kirkwall is one of the most iconic buildings in Orkney. Built from striking red and yellow sandstone, it was part of the Norwegian church when it was first constituted in 1137 and is the only wholly medieval cathedral surviving in Scotland.
