Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

This paper considers the Middle Breton mottos that appear in two 15th century manuscripts, BNF Fr. 1437 and Walter Art Museum W.463, both copies of the Armorial des Chevaliers de la Table Ronde (Armorial of the Knights of the Round Table). The work offers and edition of the phrases, accompanied by linguistic commentaries. The article also considers the significance of the presence of these Breton fragments in an otherwise French-language work, and reflects on their implications for the study of the corpus.
