Abstract
The Fair Isle Benthic Survey 2024, conducted aboard the Moder Dy from September 4th to 6th, aimed to increase the understanding of benthic habitats within the Fair Isle Demonstration and Research Marine Protected Area. Utilising hydro-acoustic surveys and drop-down video technology, the study collected detailed data to inform habitat mapping and future marine management strategies. Despite challenging weather conditions, surveys in South Haven, North Haven, and Whalebeck provided bathymetric and habitat data. The outcomes contribute to baseline mapping efforts and community engagement in marine conservation.
