Abstract

Drifters have been deployed during the summer and winter seasons over the Hebrides slope and tracked for up to 240 days. The tracks vividly illustrate the variable diffusion processes near the shelf break, Currents were 0.1-0.3 m s(-1) in the slope current (the lower value in the summer), cross slope Bow was inhibited and dispersion was anisotropic.
