Abstract

This report details the work undertaken within the Self-sampling trial conducted with the Scottish pelagic fishery in the Northwestern European Shelf case study region of the PANDORA project. The report outlines the processes that were developed and undertaken as the trial progressed and details the data that was generated. The self-sampling programme that has been established by the Pelagic Freezer Trawlwer Association (PFA) is described. Initial comparisons of data gener-ated by both self-sampling programmes are presented. A summary of lessons learned and recom-mendations of condiserations that need to be addressed for successful implementation of self-sampling in other fisheries is provided.
