Abstract
• The A-B-Tree project supports interdisciplinary learning between forestry and literature, combining ecological and practical forestry knowledge with poetry and folklore.
• Practical methods that have been developed in the project include ways of blending personal encounters with trees with in-depth exploration of varied tree knowledge, solo outdoor and group online activities, and expression of learning through creative writing.
• Tree-related wordplay can deepen learning about trees by both arts and science students, and techniques from poetry can help students to integrate information from different ‘branches’ of knowledge.
