community and reform as a theme in curriculum design: Adding dimension to an online world

Abstract

The enhanced use of technology to deliver curriculum has now rendered the term ‘Edge’ (when understood as a ‘peripheral’ or ‘isolated’) as virtually redundant in terms of the BA (Hons) Applied Music experience with the University of the Highlands and Islands. The centre is where the student and curriculum are located, whether that be a croft in the Hebrides, the lounge of Abu Dhabi airport, or a flat in Glasgow. We are all now at the centre. A case study published by Highlands and Islands Enterprise highlights this accessibility.
