Abstract
Group exhibition of work by 18 women artists. Permar exhibits a series of 6 prints, Step By Step, drawn from film stills of a video she made in 2006. The film is 3 minutes, played as a loop, and the film’s soundtrack is a Russian folk song sung by Zhanna Bichevskaya. The work was filmed at the Bridge End Hall, the local community center on the island where Permar lives in Burra Isle, Shetland. The film has been shown in the UK and Japan (Crossovers, the Aichi International Expo, Toyota Museum of Art, Japan, 2005); the prints have been exhibited in the United Kingdom.
