Bottlenose Dolphins

Abstract

The Handbook of British Mammals is a well established, classic reference source for all aspects of information on the mammals occurring in Britain and Ireland. The third edition, dating to 1991, has long been out of press. Over 100 of the leading mammalogists, mostly members of The Mammal Society, have contributed to this revision. It presents an authoritative summary of our current knowledge for all who need it: not only students and academics, but also planners, conservationists and naturalists. It benefits from a superb collection of colour plates, especially commissioned from Guy Troughton, some excellent colour photographs of mammal behaviour, and a range of new maps and diagrams. Having collaborated with Blackwell Scientific Publications for the previous 3 editions, The Mammal Society is publishing this 4th edition itself.
