Shetland Islands Dominant Marine Biotope Map

Project Details

Description of project aims

This project aims to develop a predictive map of the dominant marine biotopes surrounding the Shetland Islands. By utilising the latest available ecological, oceanographic, and habitat data, this map will provide a detailed (50m resolution) representation of benthic biotopes out to the 12nm limit.

As new data becomes available, the models and overall map will be updated to reflect changes in biotope distribution and improve its accuracy.
