Project Details
Description of project aims
This project establishes a collaboration between ERI, Carbogenics and Scottish Water to evaluate FilaChar, a biochar-based alternative to activated carbon, for advanced wastewater treatment. Laboratory trials assess its ability to remove amisulpride, a priority pharmaceutical contaminant, with successful results supporting future pilot-scale validation. The project strengthens industry–academic collaboration and supports the development of cost-effective, sustainable solutions for emerging contaminant removal.
