Nutrient removal and recovery with ‘Porous Alpha’

Project Details

Description of project aims

This project investigates Porous Alpha, an innovative recycled-glass material developed by Better2Earth, for sustainable nutrient removal from water. The research characterises the material and evaluates its ability to capture excess phosphorus and nitrogen through laboratory-scale trials. It also explores the potential reuse of nutrient-saturated Porous Alpha in soil, supporting water-quality protection, resource recovery and circular-economy approaches.
