Personal profile
Research Expertise
My research expertise includes statistical modelling, experimental design and environmental impact assessment particularly in relation to aquaculture, oil and gas and marine renewables. I am developing innovative metagenomic approaches to monitoring and challenging existing monitoring protocols, particularly in relation to the benthic/near-benthic environment.
Academic Qualifications
Biology (BSc), Marine Resource Development and Protection (MSc) followed by a PhD Artificial Reefs and a Diploma in Statistics.
Teaching Expertise
I lead the undergraduate (2nd year, core module) 'Statistics and Experimental Design' and MSc 'Marine System Monitoring Methods' modules. I lead undergrad/post-grad revision/reminder workshops on Statistical Modelling.
Expertise related to UN Sustainable Development Goals
In 2015, UN member states agreed to 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. This person’s work contributes towards the following SDG(s):
