Personal profile

Research Expertise

I am an environmental-chemical engineer with 11 years’ experience (5 years post-doctoral), with 30 publications to date (an international journals). I have spent 16 years in academia, studying, lecturing and undertaking research. I hold a board range of interdisciplinary research interests, but focus on (a) adsorption technology for removal of emerging contaminants (metals/metalloids and pharmaceuticals) (b) material synthesis, functionalisation and characterisation from biomass and other waste/raw materials (within the principles of a circular economy), (c) wastewater treatment and nutrient recovery, (d) collaboration with industry, knowledge exchange and implementation of bench-scale treatment technologies within the water sector (scale-up and pilot testing).
