Research Expertise

I am an experience academic with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen and now at the University of Highlands and Islands, Inverness.

In my experience in higher education I have a breadth of experience having had roles as lecturer, course leader, programme leader, and CPD lead, and being within the senior leadership team of Schools. I have worked locally and nationally particularly focussing on prescribing, community nursing and more recently the future nurse and paramedic. During this period in education I have had two secondment opportunities, one with NHS Education Scotland and the other the Nursing and Midwifery Council. I have extensive experience in the QA of education being a Mott Macdonald visitor for the NMC and having been an external panel member for many institutions. In conclusion I have a strong professional background with a Doctorate focused in Education from The University of Stirling.

Academic responsibilities in UHI:

To support the Head of Department to provide effective and supportive leadership in all academic matters within the Department of Nursing and Midwifery.
