My main areas of expertise lie within the primary school sector, including school management and Gaelic literacy resource creation and development. I am an experienced practitioner within all stages of pre-school and primary in Scotland using Curriculum for Excellence in both Gaelic and English.
I am currently Programme Leader for PGDE (Gaelic Pathway) Primary and Secondary and I am module leader and lecture on BA (Urram) Gàidhlig & Foghlam | BA (Hons) Gaelic & Education at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig and on the PGDE course with University of the Highlands and Islands. I also maintain social media for Teacher Education at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig https://linktr.ee/smoteagasg.
I have recently created and launched the first of its kind, new podcast about Gaelic medium education, Oideas available everywhere. Series two of Oideas is currently at the production stage.
I have interests in new learning technologies and digital literacies, particularly how they are and will continue to impact on language acquisition and online community development.
I also have interests research interests in the pedagogy of play and how this will impact minority language acquisition in Gaelic primary and immersion education and language acquisition.
