Research Interests

George Gunn is an Associate Researcher with a focus on climate change and the environment. His research interests include urban weather and climate, climate change in planning policy, and applications of GIS.

George is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and a Board Member of the Royal Meteorological Society in Scotland. In 2022, he was shortlisted as Scotland's Youth Climate Champion at the Holyrood Green Giant Awards.

He is a strong advocate for using research to inform policy decisions. His groundbreaking research on the urban heat island effect in Inverness was one of few similar studies globally and was welcomed by the Highland Council.
