Graduate Attributes-£3000 grant awarded UHI.  Research into utility of graduate attributes for students, alumni, and employers.  Mixed methods with survey and interviews with 26 employers.

 

Transitions Research UHI-£2000 grant awarded UHI. Research into the factors impacting on successful transition within the computing science degrees.

Key Projects

Development of training course in motivational interviewing for major public sector client to implement with their clients in order to help achieve change in culture.  Trained staff to use motivational interviewing techniques with their client group.

 

Delivery of a pilot management development programme for academic staff for a UK University. The development programme was designed to assess and develop leadership and coaching skills.  The development centre was followed up with feedback reports and coaching sessions with the delegates to enable development of their skills.

Responsible for the design, delivery, and project management of a development programme for middle managers within public sector client. This included: design of exercises, event management of development centres, delivering feedback on personality questionnaires and 360, follow-up coaching sessions with delegates, meetings with delegates and line managers and project management of process.

Developed a quality assurance for the development process used by emergency services clients . This included development and ongoing implementation of a comprehensive set of standards for assessment and development and establishing the reliability, validity, fairness and acceptability of all exercises and processes. Providing advice and technical expertise to all the Services and governing bodies to ensure best practice and compliance with guidelines and legal requirements.  Negotiated with a complex network of stakeholders, including senior managers, unions, HR, L&D and national government. 

 

Project to measure cultural differences (Norwegian/UK/Dutch) and attitudes to H&S in a senior management team during a period of major change.  Conducted 12 interviews with international management team and analysed results within thematic analysis. Provided report with coaching recommendations for team which were successfully implemented.

Development of a questionnaire designed to measure caring aspects of personality and attitudes to safety of self and others in the workplace.
