Projects per year
Since completing a PhD in 2012 in the field of exercise and appetite control, my early career research has examined the effects of dietary interventions and physical activity on metabolic health in humans. I have been employed as a Research Fellow at the University of the Highlands and Islands from June 2017. I occupy a leading role within the Active Health Exercise Lab at the University of the Highlands and Islands, Centre for Health Science, Inverness. My main objective is to combine the Centre for Health Science’s exemplary biochemical research with human nutrition and physical activity interventions, which represents a key element of our research growth strategy. I have experience in designing, executing and publishing research studies involving a variety of cohorts.
I was a Lecturer in the Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences department at Edinburgh Napier University from 2015-2017, during which time I performed the following roles:
- Module leader for Level 9 ‘Intermediate Exercise Physiology’ module
- Module leader for Level 9 ‘Intermediate Exercise Physiology’ module run by PSB Academy, Singapore (Edinburgh Napier University partner institute)
- Lecturer for Level 11 ‘Clinical Exercise Sciences, Exercise Physiology’ module
- Lecturer and laboratory demonstrator for Level 8 ‘Introduction to Exercise Physiology’ module
- Lecturer for Level 7 ‘Application of Science to Sport and Exercise’ module
- Lecturer for Level 7 ‘Foundations of Sport and Exercise Science’ module
- Supervise Level 10 Honours project students
