After completing my PhD on the ecology of baleen whales using stable isotope analysis and persistent organochlorine pollutants, my interests broadened to include acoustic and visual cetacean surveys. I am interested in understanding cetacean migrations through non-invasive means and in generating baseline data on the historical distribution and occurence of cetaceans, e.g. from whaling records. My recent research also focuses on ethics in marine mammal science.
