Personal profile
Research expertise
I am interested in investigating the health benefits associated with certain dietary compounds and understanding how these can help maintain or improve the health status of the general population. My research interests in the field of nutrition have previously focused on assessing the metabolic fate of polyphenolic compounds, with potential biomarkers of intake identified as a result.
I have also worked on clinical research projects that discovered novel proteomics biomarkers in urine, using large-scale proteomics data analysis and biomarker model pattern building for the early diagnosis of patients with various diseases including rheumatoid arthritis, and acute kidney injury.
With experience in mass spectrometry spanning 10 years, I have used liquid and gas chromatography, as well as MALDI and capillary electrophoresis, all coupled to various mass spectrometry platforms, for the separation, identification and quantification of a wide variety of compounds and their metabolites in biofluids.
