The Centre for Rural Childhood is based within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Business, within Perth College, UHI. Research in the areas of childhood and rural contexts offers a wide range of opportunities for study, that includes different conceptions of childhood (listening to children and adults reflections of their childhood), different locations (rural and urban, local and global, majority and minority), and different perspectives (engaging in knowledge exchange with the range of stakeholders involved in children¿s lives). Centre activities include research, consultancy, teaching, training and the provision of evidence-based approach to the development of policy and practice at a local, national and international level. Staff are regularly invited to present at international conferences and contribute to academic and practice related publications. The Centre has collaborative links with national and international researchers, and wider associations including international organisations and agencies.
