Rethinking the 'social' in social art practice and its pedagogies

Reflections about the meaning and role of social art practice in relation to our rapidly changing world. I share some questions and examples of ways social art practitioners are making in response to ecological and social changes that impact human and more than human systems, the ecological and social forming and informing of each other over time. I am use the MA degree programme in Art and Social Practice at the University of the Highlands and Islands in Shetland that I lead as a case study. I have been thinking about how our teaching and learnng practices have changed over the period of time since we began to deliver the course in September 2017. What do postgraduate students need to be able to embraces the uncertainty and ambiguity to navigate these intertwined and entangled relationships?
