Public lecture on the Challenger Expedition (1872-76)

Description

As part of the Challenger Society for Marine Science Conference 2006, SAMS organised an evening event to promote the history of marine science to the public. A public lecture was given by the author Richard Corfield based on his recent and popular book 'the Silent Landscape'. The lecture was entitled 'The Challenger Expedition (1872-76) and the beginnings of marine science' and was attended by members of the public and delegates from the conference. Following the lecture there was a short reception and book signing.
