Together with one other opponent, I examined the candidate before an audience consisting of his friends, family, peers, and the faculty of the institute. Jointly with the other opponent, and under the guidance of the chairman of the thesis committee, I wrote a summary and review of the thesis, and approved of the work as sufficient for the award of a PhD.
