Abstract
Poetry As Research offers opportunities for developing deeper understanding of commonly encountered experiences in particular feeling silenced or invisible in the academy. The collective's contribution to this edited book focuses on how a dialogic process of writing poetry enables us to make sense of our experiences and to amplify otherwise silenced and marginalised voices. Having used poetry to critically explore the intersectional spaces we occupy in landscapes of our respective academic practices, we consider the practicalities and possibilities of developing a community of practice of poetic inquirers. We discuss how nurturing such a community of practice offers a sense of safety, and how this umbrella of protection in turn allows for the individual and collective emergence of voice to articulate our identities.
