Coastal Voices: The people, the peninsula and the sea

Abstract

Coastal Voices is a film about how people in the St Davids area of Pembrokeshire, Wales, connect with their coast and sea, and the place it holds in their lives.

Mae Lleisiau’r arfordur yn ffilm sydd yn son am sut mae polbol yn ardal Ty Ddewi, Sir Benfro yn cysylltu gyda ei harfordur ar môr, ar bwysigrwydd iw bywydau.

Stories about the sea are often told through industrial or environmental points of view. This film is different: it lets a coastal community speak for themselves.

Yn aml mae storeuon y môr yn cael ei ddweud o safbwynt diwydiaoll neu yr ymgylchedd. Mae’r film hon yn wahannol: mae’n gadael i’r gymuned i siarad dros ei hunan.

We are grateful to the St David’s area community for sharing their perspectives on camera.

Rydym yn ddiolchgar i gymuned ardal Tyddewi am rannu eu safbwyntiau ar y camera.

We hope this film starts conversations and encourages thought about what the sea and coast mean to us individually and as communities, and what we would like from that relationship into the future.

Gobeithiwn fydd y film yn dechreau sgwrs ac yn hybu meddyliau am beth y mae’r môr ai arfordur yn meddwl i ni fel unolgoloion ac fel cymunedu a beth hoffwn ni weld or berthynas hyn yn y dyfodol.

This film has been made by the Scottish Association for Marine Science (SAMS) as part of the Unlocking the Power of Seaweed Project. This project is funded by the National Lottery’s Community Fund.
