Projektdetails
!!Description
The overall objective of the SAICHatch project, funded by the Scottish Aquaculture Innovation Centre, was to support the Stepping Stone Pilot hatchery project (or SSP) by undertaking supplementary research trials aiming to investigate and optimize:
1. live feed provision (led by SAMS(UHI)),
2. bacteriology within the hatchery (led by Institute of Aquaculture, Stirling University),
3. the settlement and grow-out of hatchery produced spat (led by NAFCMC(UHI)).
Following agreement by SAIC, Scottish Shellfish and all project research partners, these aims were later revised by replacing the NAFC Marine Centre’s settlement/grow-out studies with investigations into the more pressing problems of mussel broodstock spawning condition and larval quality.
