Persönliches Profil
Research Expertise
I have a PhD in cognitive science, where I studied information seeking & intertextuality(genre), in particular looking at how people perceive, e.g., skim, read, and scan, relevant information to solve tasks using mixed methods. I have experience in both software development solutions, human computer interaction, 3D Modelling and experimental research on human information use, by using think aloud protocols, questionnaires and eyetracking technology.
I am currently PI of many exciting research projects funded by the the IDEAs Fund, SFC Innovation Vouchers and UIF Funds. I am also looking to expand and link the current research projects with multi-disciplinary researchers across the UHI and other academic institutes.
I also have peer reviewed outputs and interests in Artificial Intelligence, in particular, Machine Learning, and also automated domain knowledge.
Outside interests include research into helping people communicate more effectively by using psychometrics to measure empathy in their emails with Turalt (Toronto: Canada).
