Organisation profile
The Centre for Living Sustainability work to address the social, economic, environmental and cultural opportunities and challenges facing remote and rural places and people. They do this through conducting high quality research, stimulating public debate and the analysis and evaluation of policy options that secure the long term wellbeing of remote and rural regions, such as the Highlands and Islands.
The UHI Centre for Living Sustainability aims to amplify the voices of marginalised people in communities across the Highlands and Islands and internationally. It takes an interdisciplinary and creative approach to research and innovation to understand complexity, change and uncertainty. Now and in the future, the sustainability of communities is important in navigating social, environmental, and economic challenges and contributing to transformational change.
