Description
The program of the Arctic Arts Summit 2026 unfolded across multiple formats and platforms, combining high-level dialogue with broad public engagement. Central to the Summit were the plenary sessions, where key voices from arts, Indigenous communities, academia, and politics came together. Alongside, a wide range of parallel sessions hosted by international partners opened space for diverse perspectives and discussions. The Off-summit program activated venues across Umeå, giving grassroots organisations and small institutions opportunities to connect their projects to the Summit. Through the Co-organisers program, regional cultural actors in northern Sweden gained capacity and visibility in an international context. The Summit also features workshops, live TV broadcasts and podcasts, ensuring broad accessibility and documentation. Artistic projects and presentations across the city — in exhibitions, performances, concerts, literature, and film — created dialogue and resonance with the Summit’s cultural policy themes.Co-hosted by Viermie K, Umeå kommun, Region Västerbotten, Swedish Arts Council, Umeå University and Arctic Arts Summit Secretariat
