It is the last of these which is more disputable. Who can be sure that wealth dispossession is a way of wealth creation? When believers came and laid their wealth at the feet of the apostles, it did not necessarily mean the end of their trading lives for good. A consideration of the pre-modern history of interpretation of Acts 2:42–47 and Acts 4:32–36 and its modern legacy should sharpen our understanding of what is at stake.",
