Research Interests
The aim of my research is to better quantify and mitigate greenhouse gas emissions at the local, regional, national, and global scales from the energy, waste, agriculture and natural sectors. My work has shown that emission factors currently used to generate bottom-up greenhouse gas emissions inventories are typically inadequate to represent regional variability, biogeochemical processes or changing anthropogenic activities. To address this, I use in-situ measurements to generate emission factors that account for environmental and activity variability. I regularly advise state/government agencies and industry on quantification best practices and am recognized as an expert in trace gas emission quantification.
